Warning - Consumer Protections
Sadly we are are heading to the District Court soon as that is the level we are forced to go to with this vehicle
Why - well in later 2025 we took Armstrong Greenlane, the Ineos Grenadier Dealer to the Motor Vehicle Disputes Tribunal and found out that due to a error in the law that we can't use that Tribunal and now have to go to the full District Court
This was caused by the Ineos's GVM being 3,500 kg
The Tribunal’s jurisdiction is limited to vehicles with a gross weight mass of less than 3,500 kg. If your vehicle weighs 3,500 kg or more, the Tribunal cannot consider your claim
Now this affects anyone with a Vehicle with a GVM of 3,500 - of which there are a few, Ineos Grenadier and Ineos Quartermaster, Toyota HiAce, Ford Ranger Hybrid, BYD Shark and a bunch of others
While your rights are the same, the method of exercising those rights should you need too - well we certainly do and judging by the other articles appearing the in the media others do - but now we have gone from a relatively simple $89 fee to some $20,000 to $40,000 and 12 plus months in the District Court
Do the law makers know - Yes Since at least November 2025
Does the MTA (Motor Trade Association) know, yes we told them in a email - to which they didn't bother to respond
